We are lucky enough to own a holiday home, in the South West. Growing up travelling down south for weekends and going for holidays around Western Australia has meant we have seen WA transform over 30+ years. Using holiday homes when we travel has helped us create wonderful memories for our children. It also brings back memories of family holidays when we were young.
Last year, in 2018, we saw an opportunity to offer owners and guests a better platform to book their holiday accommodation.
We believe an online booking platform should:
Be Fair to Both Owners and Guests
Care about the Local Community they are Operating in.
So how will our online booking platform be different? What are we going to offer guests that the other international platforms don’t offer?
Our Online Booking Platform’s Points of Difference
1. Cheaper Booking Fees
We are offering lower booking fees ( 5% for Australian credit card holders) for guests. That works out to almost $100 saving for an average weekend away down south*. With the money you save on booking fees, you can have a couple of bottles of local wine or dinner on us. Being a locally owned company we can also specifically market what Western Australia has to offer. Our guests are not just interested in the homes we offer but the holiday experience itself. Keeping them up to date with the latest events around WA allows them to make the most of their holidays.
2. Only registered accommodation are allowed to list
After consulting with other accommodation providers, we have decided to only allow accommodation that registered with local councils to list on our site. The reasons for doing this is two fold. Firstly, it gives you peace of mind that the place actually exists and has met the necessary council regulations. Secondly, it is an acknowledgment that our accommodation should operate positively in their respective communities. By ensuring only registered accommodation is listed, means the minimum standard that local councils feel is appropriate for their area ie. bush fire safety etc is upheld. Further, it ensures local councils can determine the right mix of accommodation for their local area, which can help maintain the essence of the area. It is our way of ensuring sustainable tourism in Western Australia.
3. Offering Last Minute Deals.
Being a local Online Booking Platform we can offer you last minute specials around WA. Owners wanting to attract last minute bookings can offer their houses at heavily discounted prices. This is good for guests and our homeowners. Make sure you sign up to our newsletter or follow us on our socials (Facebook/Instagram) so you don’t miss out!
4. Online Booking Platform Supporting Telethon
We have seen an opportunity to give back to the Western Australian community by donating to Telethon. For every booking made we are donating $1 to Telethon. Having 3 children of our own, the good work Telethon does is even more relevant to us now. It is an iconic WA charity and we are so pleased we are in a position to be able to help out in our own small way.
In the end, we love our state and love that we can help others enjoy it. Whether it be a tree escape getaway or enjoying our vast impressive coastline, WA HomeStay is committed to helping you find your perfect holiday “home away from home”. So what are you waiting for? Book with us and start saving today.
Thanks for using a local booking platform and keeping the fees in WA 🙂
